Emma Myers clarifies why Enid and Agnes romance won’t work in Wednesday

Some Wednesday fans may be rooting for Enid Sinclair and newcomer Agnes DeMille after their Season 2 dance scene

Some Wednesday fans may be rooting for Enid Sinclair and newcomer Agnes DeMille after their Season 2 dance scene, but Emma Myers says the pairing isn’t right.

Speaking to TVLine, Myers explained why she doesn’t see romance between the two characters: “I say Agnes is a baby, a child. Maybe ship Enid with somebody her own age. That’s what I’ll say.”In the Netflix series, Enid is written as 16, while Agnes—played by Evie Templeton—is only about 13.

The speculation began after the penultimate episode, “Woe Me the Money”, where Enid and Agnes share a memorable dance set to Lady Gaga’s 'The Dead Dance', a track recorded exclusively for the show. The scene unfolds after Agnes, who had previously driven a wedge between Enid and Wednesday (Jenna Ortega), steps in to partner with her.

Series co-creator Miles Millar told Deadline the moment was crafted with intention. “It felt like it was tailor-made for the show in terms of the lyrics,” he said. “We knew we had this gala and this moment between Enid and Agnes when they come together, after having been frenemies throughout the season, and it just felt like the perfect moment.”

Millar emphasised the dance was less about romance and more about growth, calling it “a moment of friendship and alliance [that] was significant for them as characters.”

While fans may continue to speculate, Myers’ comments make it clear Enid’s romantic future likely lies elsewhere—at least for now.
