Netflix’s Wednesday has returned with its trademark dark humour and supernatural mysteries, and this time, the hype is even bigger thanks to pop icon Lady Gaga joining the cast. The first four episodes of Season 2 premiered on August 6, nearly three years after the show’s debut, and fans are already speculating about what’s to come when Part 2 arrives on September 3, 2025.

Gaga, who did not appear in the first half of the season, has been announced as Rosaline Rotwood, described by Netflix as a “legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday.” But Jenna Ortega, who plays the title character, insists the story isn’t that simple.

“She’s not a teacher. That’s your little clue,” Ortega teased in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “Whatever you’ve heard, it’s wrong.”

The young star also gushed about her time on set with Gaga. “One of the kindest, most grounded people I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with, such a powerhouse,” Ortega said.

Catherine Zeta-Jones, who reprises her role as the ever-dramatic Morticia Addams, was equally thrilled about the casting. “She was an addition that was made in heaven or in our case, hell, which is a good thing,” she quipped. “I actually feel that she is probably related somehow genetically to the Addams Family.”

Luis Guzman, who plays Wednesday’s father, Gomez Addams, kept the banter going, joking, “As Gomez, Addams’ lawyer, I’m preparing the papers to officially adopt her.”

With Gaga’s scenes still under wraps until the second half of the season, fans will have to wait to see exactly how Rosaline Rotwood, or whoever she truly is, fits into the macabre world of Nevermore Academy. For now, Wednesday Season 2: Part 1 is streaming on Netflix.
