The first part of Wednesday season 2 premiered on Netflix on August 6. With every episode spanning nearly 60 minutes, the season has spawned excitement among fans. With the wait between parts 1 and 2 extending to nearly a month, audiences have already come up with theories to predict the narrative of the second part. Who is the woman Wednesday saved in Willow Hill? What role does Slurp have in all this? Why does Lurch seem off throughout the first part of the season? Is Agnes really only a die-hard fan of Wednesday? Here are five interesting theories that could alter the course of the story and perhaps answer all these questions and more.

1. Is Tyler's mother, Francoise, a Jekyll or a Hyde?

In the final moments of the last episode in part 1, Wednesday and Uncle Fester save the victims of the L.O.I.S. experiment at Willow Hill, of whom the last woman rescued by Wednesday is shown to be enigmatic, calling her an "angel". Naturally, with the knowledge that Aunt Ophelia is also at Willow Hill, it is easy to assume that the woman is indeed Wednesday's long-lost aunt. However, the woman is being predicted as Francoise Galpin, Tyler's mother. The fact that Uncle Fester does not recognise her proves that she is indeed not Ophelia. It is known that Francoise was admitted to Willow Hill immediately after giving birth to Tyler. With "Caution, extreme danger" written only on her door, it is easy to conclude that she is a hyde, like Tyler, as they're the most dangerous type of outcast. As Thornhill particularly repeats to Tyler that she is his mother, he gets angrier, perhaps due to the proximity of his real mother. If theories are to come true, Francoise will play a big part in controlling Tyler's actions and working against Wednesday.

2. The brain-teasing theory behind Slurp

Of all the new characters introduced this season, Slurp is the uncanniest. A zombie, it is clear that the character has a deeper purpose as the season progresses, as he makes an appearance in all the episodes with no hint at his machinations. In the last episode of part 1, a more human-than-revenant Slurp, devours the brain of ex-normie teacher Augustus after saying, "Hello, old friend." As per some theories, Slurp, who died in the Iago tower, could have succumbed to an early L.O.I.S. experiment carried out by Augustus and his daughter. Theories regarding Slurp's role in the second part of season 2 are contrasting. Some predict that he may be the ultimate villain, even the one who attempts to take the life of Enid, while another school of thought believes him to be an ally to Wednesday, as he is friends with Pugsley, who brought him to life.

3. Is Agnes only a stalker?

Agnes is introduced as a new student at Nevermore and later revealed to be Wednesday's stalker. The stalker is first introduced in the Wednesday universe at the end of season 1. How did Agnes stalk Wednesday even before she joined the school? Did she live on campus, invisibly? How did Agnes reach Galpin's murder scene even before Wednesday and take his phone? Some also theorise that Agnes and Bruno are in cahoots to keep both Wednesday and Enid distracted. But the best theory of them all is Agnes being Marilyn Thornhill's daughter, due to the red hair and big eyes. Is she?

4. Music teacher Isadora Capri's discordant notes

With the reveal at the end of part 1 exposing Judi Spannagel as the Avian, Isadora Capri, the new music teacher at Nevermore, is proven to be innocent. But is she? In the first part of season 2, Isadora is seen wearing Crackstone's ring and is also seen having pet birds. Why was she indeed breathless when Wednesday pursues the Avian? Why was Judi Spannagel helpless when the victims of L.O.I.S. attacked her if she could summon birds to protect her? All these questions make us wonder about the real identity and purpose of Isadora's character. Is she still the Avian behind all of this?

5. Is there more to Lurch than meets the eye?

In the first season, when Lurch takes the Addams Family to Nevermore for the first time, he is seen with a vitreous right eye, and at that exact same time, a murder of crows attacks their car. But at the end of season 1, when Wednesday is threatened by a stalker in her car, her chauffeur, Lurch's eyes seem perfectly normal. Yet again, in the first part of season 2, we get a lot more of Lurch, even if he doesn't necessarily add any value to the scenes. And, again, his right eye is vitreous, just like the lead crow that attacks all the victims this season. Interestingly, just as Lurch rolls in the car onto the streets of Nevermore, Carl Bradbury is attacked to death by the crows. So, some theories suggest that Lurch could either be controlled by someone who has disposed him to carry out their orders. Or, he could be the one behind all the Avian murders. Furthermore, he could also be a shapeshifter posing as Lurch, with the real Lurch held captive elsewhere.
