We had earlier reported that the Russo Brothers will helm the two-part Avengers film, Avengers: Doomsday, eyeing a May 1, 2026 release, and Avengers: Secret Wars, set for a 2027 release.

The latest update from the makers is that Anthony Mackie, Chris Hemsworth, Sebastian Stan, and Letitia Wright have onboarded the film.

The Russo Brothers will return to the Avengers franchise after Avengers: Endgame in 2019. The previous Marvel films helmed by the duo are Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Captain America: Civil War (2016), and Avengers: Infinity War (2018). Their last work was the recently released science-fiction action-adventure The Electric State.

Avengers: Doomsday will feature the comeback of Robert Downey Jr., known for his iconic role as Iron Man from the 2008 origin film to 2019's Avengers: Endgame. This time, however, he takes on a darker turn, portraying the infamous Doctor Doom.

The film's star cast also includes Hayley Atwell, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Simu Liu, Wyatt Russell, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, and Ebon Moss-Bacherach.
