For the makers of the Paddington franchise, namely StudioCanal, the beloved bear is not just a brand but also a worldwide phenomenon. At least that is what the description of their recent event titled "Turning a Heritage Brand into a Global Phenomenon," implies. Featuring StudioCanal's CEO Francoise Guyonnet and global sales head Sissel Henno, the event's description hinted at a closer exploration of the "ongoing journey of Paddington from a classic character to a worldwide cultural phenomenon." While Guyonnet and Henno emphasised that it is too early to confirm anything, they said that a fourth Paddington film and a web series are in the pipeline.

"We are also working on a new TV series and a new movie to come in 2027, ’28," they said.

Guyonnet also stated, "The big event for the StudioCanal family is the release of Paddington in Peru."

In the third instalment in the franchise, which marks Dougal Wilson's feature debut, Paddington goes from his London home to Peru, his native, to see "his beloved aunt Lucy," said Henno . The film brings back Ben Whishaw as the voice of Paddington and Imelda Staunton as that of Lucy, besides Hugh Bonneville as Henry Brown, Julie Walters as Mrs Bird, and Jim Broadbent as Mr Gruber. Emily Mortimer replaced Sally Hawkins as Mrs Brown in the third film. Olivia Colman, and Antonio Banderas are also part of the cast. StudioCanal produced the film with David Heyman‘s Heyday Films.
