Friendship, a film written and directed by debutant Andrew DeYoung, has been bought by A24. The film is a comedy starring Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd and was premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, where it was the second runner-up for the People's Choice Award, Midnight Madness. This will be Robinson's first full-fledged role in a feature film.

Robinson plays a suburban dad who obsessively pursues a bond with his charming neighbour (Rudd). The film also stars Kate Mara, Jack Dylan Grazer, Josh Segarra, and Billy Bryk. Friendship is produced by Nick Weidenfeld, Raphael Margules, JD Lifshitz, and John Holland, while Paul Rudd, Tracy Rosenblum, Alexis Garcia, and DeYoung are executive producers.

Rudd was last seen in the 2024 film Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire and has Death of a Unicorn and Power Ballad in the pipeline. Robinson, meanwhile, last voiced Filip Schaff in the second season of the animated series Invincible.
