According to a recent Tortoise Media report, two women, one described as K and the other as Scarlett, alleged that author Neil Gaiman sexually assaulted them. In light of the accusations, Disney is halting the film based on Gaiman's piece of literature titled The Graveyard Book. IndieWire is the first publication to report this piece of news. There are multiple factors in Disney's decision, including the accusations against Gaiman. The project is not completely off and filmmaker Marc Forster is still associated to it as its director, though.
The book tells the story of a boy raised by ghosts at a graveyard after the murder of his family. Gaiman had no part in the film, which had not cast any actor or gone on floors either.
Tortoise Media released a series of podcasts detailing the accusations, and three more women opened up about their own allegations.
