The Beatles' 1970 documentary goes to Disney+ post restoration

Coming as a gift to The Beatles fans, the documentary about the rock band Let It Be has been restored and will be streaming on Disney+

The 1970 documentary was in hiding for more than 50 years. It was initially released a month after the Beatles' breakup in May 1970.

The documentary film, directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg, has been restored by Peter Jackson, who directed and produced The Beatles: Get Back docuseries.

Jackson's Park Road Post Production has reportedly employed the same technology used to revitalise the vintage footage from his docuseries.

Let It Be stars John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, with Billy Preston making a special appearance. The documentary was produced by Neil Aspinall with The Beatles acting as the executive producers.

The documentary will stream on Disney+ on May 8.
