We had earlier reported that the production of The Walking Dead spinoff series has begun in New Jersey. The latest update is that actor Lesley-Ann Brandt has been roped in to play a prominent role. The series also stars Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira. 

The upcoming yet-to-be-titled series will revolve around the two characters, Rick and Michonne, who were romantically linked. The characters are played by Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira. According to Deadline, Lesley-Ann Brandt will play the role of Pearl Thorne; more about the role is yet to be revealed. 

The showrunner of the series, Scott M Gimple, will also serve as the executive producer. Besides him, Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira are the executive producers, along with Denise Huth and Brian Bockrath. 

Meanwhile, Lesley-Ann Brandt is best known for her role as Maze, a demon from Hell, in Netflix's fantasy series Lucifer. She's also known for her role as Naevia in the Spartacus franchise. Her other acting credits include Gotham and The Librarians, among others.

The spinoff is slated to premiere in 2024.
