Marvel released the first teaser trailer for their new Disney+ animated show titled I Am Groot. Developed as a series of short stories, the show follows the adventures of the Guardians of the Galaxy character Groot. The story revolves around a young Groot, a sentient tree-like creature.

I Am Groot, titled so because of the characters' inability to say anything other than the phrase “I am Groot,” is a ten-part series with brief appearances from other members of the Guardians of the Galaxy. It was earlier confirmed that Bradley Cooper would return to voice the role of Rocket Raccoon, Groot’s friend, colleague, and a (sort of) father figure. The show is set to premiere on Disney+Hotstar on August 10.

Interestingly, action star Vin Diesel is returning to voice the role of Baby Groot, even though his only line in the show would be I am Groot and will probably be altered to sound like a young, Baby Groot. Director James Gunn clarified doubts on Twitter by saying that the show will probably not be canon to the grander Marvel Cinematic Universe despite voice. I Am Groot is Marvel’s second animated show on Disney+ following the anthology series What If…?
