Actor Vishwak Sen is currently working on two films simultaneously, and both are scheduled to release this year. He is playing the lead in the political thriller Legacy, which is set to hit the screens on December 4. Now, he is also playing the lead and directing a film titled Cult, which is an action thriller, and the makers have announced its release date.

Vishwak Sen has consistently experimented with unconventional subjects. Apart from acting and directing, he has also provided the story and screenplay for Cult. Produced by Sandeep Kakarala under the Tarak Cinemas banner, the film is billed as India’s first authentic slasher thriller.

Drawing inspiration from disturbing real-life incidents, Cult promises a dark, intense, and edge-of-the-seat experience, according to the makers. The film has already created curiosity with its first glimpse, which offered a peek into its intriguing world and premise. The first single, which showcased the friendship between the characters, was also well received.

The makers have now announced the release date with a new glimpse. Cult is set to release on October 30, making it Vishwak Sen’s second theatrical release of the year. The release date glimpse once again offers a peek into the film’s intriguing premise, with Vishwak Sen’s intense killing spree and rage making it a striking announcement video.

The actor is reportedly playing a negative-shaded character for the first time, hinting at the darker world that awaits in the film. Ravi Basrur’s pulsating and intense score further elevates the tension and intrigue.

Gayatri Bharadwaj is playing the female lead, while Kannada actor Tarak Ponnappa is playing a key role. The cast also includes Murali Sharma, Srikanth Iyengar, Karthikeya, Anirudh Bhaskar, Yagnya Turlapati, Kabeer Bhartiya, and Chepuri Vivek.

The interesting aspect of the film is that popular director and writer Tharun Bhascker has penned the dialogues, while Ravi Basrur is composing the music. Arvind Vishwanathan is handling the cinematography, and Ravi Teja Girijala is responsible for the editing. Production designer Arvind Mule is creating the film’s expansive visual world with elaborate and detailed sets.

The makers are planning to release Cult in multiple languages. Apart from Telugu, the film will also be released in Hindi, English, Japanese, and Spanish.
