Lavanya Tripathi is returning to the big screen with Sathi Leelavathi, where Malayalam actor Dev Mohan plays the male lead. Directed by Tatineni Satya of Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu and SMS (Siva Manasulo Sruthi) fame, the film is set for a theatrical release on May 8. “I have already watched Sathi Leelavathi with my manager, and we laughed a lot. The film has turned out really well, and I’m very confident about it. Now, I’m waiting to see how the audience receives it,” said Lavanya.

The actor revealed that she learnt she was pregnant during the shoot. “During the filming, I found out that I was pregnant. However, with the team’s support, I managed to complete the shoot smoothly,” she said, adding, “When I came on board, I had no idea I was pregnant and had no symptoms. Later, I realised the shoot wouldn’t be easy, and I even lost weight for the role. I don’t know where I got the energy from. But going forward, if I know I’m pregnant, I will definitely take a break from shoots.”

Lavanya shared that she plays a director in the film. “The entertainment is fantastic, and everyone will enjoy the comedy. It also has emotional moments, and even though it carries a message, it doesn’t feel preachy,” she said. She also mentioned that the relationships portrayed in the film are not something one would want in real life. “No woman should face such situations. In my personal life, I’m fortunate to have a wonderful husband like Varun. Right now, I’m happy spending time with my husband and son,” she added.

Talking about her co-star, she said, “Dev Mohan is a very good person and a talented actor. He has dubbed for himself in the film.”

Lavanya also confirmed that she hasn’t signed any new projects for now. “I want to dedicate my time to my family. My son keeps me fully occupied, and I’ve decided to take a small break,” she said.

She clarified that the film should not be compared to Kamal Haasan’s Sathi Leelavathi. “That is a classic. Our film is purely an entertainer and should be seen that way,” she said.

On the possibility of acting alongside her husband Varun, Lavanya said, “I would love to work with him. Recently, we were offered a story, but since we are already together in real life, it needs to be something unique and different on screen. We’ll consider it when such a script comes.
