With just a week to go for the release of Samantha's upcoming film Maa Inti Bangaram, the film has been at the centre of many discussions ever since the trailer was unveiled. Showcasing the Kushi actor as a quiet homemaker with a deadly past, the film has raised anticipation and excitement for its storyline. Director BV Nandini Reddy had recently revealed that the film has shades of Rajinikanth's Baasha (1995) in it.
When asked if Maa Inti Bangaram has any resemblance to Radhika Apte's Mrs Undercover, given that its promotional material seemed to evoke a similar vibe, Nandini was quick to clarify that her film is not a spy thriller. Drawing a comparison with Rajinikanth's Baasha, she explained that the story revolves around a character with a hidden past and the gradual unveiling of that character's journey, rather than functioning as a conventional spy film. She also emphasised that her character is layered and has soul, emotion and vulnerability.
Talking about her performance, Nandini said, "Samantha has changed a lot over the years. She is now on another level and is fantastic in every scene, whether it is comedy, emotion, or action. This film will definitely be a blast, and I assure you that it will entertain everyone."
Besides Samantha and Gulshan Devaiah, Maa Inti Bangaram also stars Diganth Manchale, and Gauthami in key roles.
The film is backed by Samantha under Tralala Moving Pictures. Her husband Raj Nidimoru is co-producing the film alongside Himank Duvvuru. It has music by Santhosh Narayanan.
Maa Inti Bangaram is slated to release in theatres on June 19.
