Actor Ram Pothineni is all set to make his directorial debut with his 23rd film as a lead actor, tentatively titled RAPO23. The film was launched recently in Hyderabad, and the shoot commenced soon after. The team has now shifted to Pondicherry for the next major schedule, where they will film a lengthy action sequence and a song. The film is being produced by Ram's brother, Krishna Pothineni, under the Rapo Cinematics banner.
RAPO23 is one of the most ambitious projects in Ram Pothineni's career, with the actor personally overseeing every aspect of the film. Balancing his responsibilities as both lead actor and director, Ram is leaving no stone unturned to bring his vision to life. The makers revealed that the film is progressing at a brisk pace and is being mounted on a lavish scale with a massive budget.
The team is currently shooting an extensive 15-day schedule in the scenic locales of Pondicherry. This crucial leg includes a visually appealing song choreographed by popular dance master Brinda, along with several high-octane action episodes designed by renowned stunt choreographer Vikram Mor, whose credits include blockbuster films such as KGF: Chapter 1, Kantara, and Karuppu.
Conceived by Ram himself, RAPO23 is said to be a unique psychological action thriller set in a gripping neo-noir world. The film also boasts a strong technical team, with National Award-winning cinematographer Thirunavukarasu (Thirru) handling the visuals. Along with Vikram Mor, acclaimed stunt choreographer Peter Hein is designing the action sequences, while AS Prakash is serving as the production designer, creating elaborate sets to enhance the film's scale.
With its unconventional story, grand production values, and top-notch technical crew, RAPO23 is steadily shaping up to be one of the biggest and most anticipated films in Ram Pothineni's career.
