Director AK Jampanna is all set to make his debut with Caste. Recently, the makers unveiled the film’s first glimpse at an event, where the director shared insights into the story. He said that, as the title suggests, the film revolves around the concept of caste. “However, we have not referred to any particular caste in the film,” Jampanna clarified.
He added that the basic elements — air, fire, water, and earth — are the same for everyone, irrespective of caste. “We will reveal the fifth element at an upcoming event,” he said, hinting at another layer to the narrative.
Addressing concerns about censorship and titles, Jampanna said he does not anticipate any issues. “I don’t think we will be asked to change the title, as the word ‘caste’ is commonly used, even in official applications,” he explained.
The film features Varun Sandesh, Satyam Rajesh, Ravi, and Gagan in the lead roles. Interestingly, the makers have not yet revealed their individual looks, instead presenting them symbolically as the four elements — air, fire, water, and earth.
Jampanna revealed that the story draws inspiration from real-life incidents, blended with fictional elements. “The motivation behind this film is humanity. Caste creates divisions between people, and that thought led me to develop this story,” he said.
Nagababu plays a key role in the film, and the makers recently unveiled his first look as Rangarajan. Dressed in black attire with a prominent bindi on his forehead, his intense appearance has already caught attention. According to the team, his character stands against the caste system and represents a humane perspective.
The film is produced by Lakshmi Thota Koteswara Rao, with Kashika Kapoor as the female lead. Anup Rubens is composing the music, while Divi, Prudhvi, and several others play important roles.
