Thaman, who received a lot of acclaim for his soundtrack for Pawan Kalyan starrer They Call Him OG, is also the composer for the much-anticipated Prabhas’ The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi. In a recent interview, Thaman spoke about how the film will stand out in the careers of both Maruthi and Prabhas.
Speaking to Great Andhra, Thaman stated, “The Raja Saab will mark the arrival of Maruthi 2.0, and his career will be divided into Before Raja Saab and After Raja Saab. It’s an extra-ordinary film.” Maruthi’s previous films include Bhale Bhale Magadivoy and Pakka Commercial.
The OG composer also recalls being floored by Prabhas’ performance in the film. He added, “I have watched few snippets of the film, and I was surprised by Prabhas’ avatar in it. I asked Maruthi how he managed to bring this out of Prabhas. Prabhas is so hilarious in those scenes — after a long time, such a Prabhas performance is arriving. For Prabhas too, this performance will stand out in his career.”
Thaman also mentioned how he has delivered a complete soundtrack for The Raja Saab. “An introduction song, a duet, a theme song, an item number — this album will have everything,” he added.
The Raja Saab, which also stars Nidhhi Agerwal and Malavika Mohanan, marks the first time Thaman S is composing both the songs and background score for a Prabhas film. He had earlier composed background score for Radhe Shyam, which was a box office failure. Thaman S is also the composer for Telusu Kada, which will hit theatres on October 18. His upcoming projects include Balakrishna starrer Akhanda 2.
The composer is also on board for the Trivikram-Venkatesh project, Bobby Kolli’s film with Chiranjeevi, and Gopichand Malineni’s next project which stars Balakrishna.
