Akhanda 2, the Balakrishna starrer action entertainer, was earlier slated to release on September 25. However, after Pawan Kalyan’s OG makers set the same as the release date, Akhanda 2 producers were compelled to postpone their film. On Wednesday, however, Balakrishna announced the new release date for Akhanda 2.
Akhanda 2 will now arrive on December 5, Balakrishna announced at a recent public event. Balakrishna also informed that they are planning to commence promotions soon, and that Akhanda 2 would also have a grand release in Hindi version this time.
Earlier, Balakrishna had stated that Akhanda 2 is also being delayed because of music composer Thaman’s other commitments, and that the composer needed more time to do justice to Akhanda 2.
Directed by Boyapati Sreenu, Akhanda 2: Thaandavam continues the saga that first saw Balakrishna don the fierce Aghora avatar in 2021’s blockbuster Akhanda. This time, the actor promises even more scale, with action set against the Himalayan backdrop and Aadhi Pinisetty stepping in as antagonist. Samyuktha plays the female lead, with Pragya Jaiswal and Harshaali Malhotra in key roles.
The project, bankrolled by 14 Reels Plus and presented by M Tejaswini Nandamuri, arrives with towering expectations given the legacy of Balayya–Boyapati collaborations, from Simha to Legend to Akhanda.
