The makers of The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi, confirmed on Sunday that the film’s trailer will be unveiled on September 29 at 6 pm.
Backed by TG Vishwa Prasad under People Media Factory, The Raja Saab casts Prabhas in a dual role. Malavika Mohanan, making her Telugu debut, stars opposite him, while Nidhhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar take on other leading parts. Adding heft to the ensemble, Sanjay Dutt is said to play one of the spirits that lingers inside the film’s haunted palace.
The Raja Saab teaser, which was released 3 months ago, already hinted at a mix of chills and laughs. Prabhas is introduced as a cheerful everyman who enters a sprawling mansion, touted as the largest horror set ever built in India. His gang of friends, played by Sathya, Sapthagiri, VTV Ganesh and Prabhas Seenu, appear to provide the comic counterpoint to eerie goings-on. Romance enters the mix too, with Malavika Mohanan and Nidhhi Agerwal briefly sketched in as Prabhas’ love interests.
Thaman’s score bridges horror atmospherics with massy rhythms, while the technical team includes cinematographer Karthik Palani, production designer Rajeevan and editor Kotagiri Venkateshwara Rao.
For Prabhas, The Raja Saab marks a return to the lighter, comic vein of earlier outings like Bujjigadu and Ek Niranjan. The film arrives at a busy moment in his career, with the Kalki 2898 AD sequel waiting to get on sets, Spirit with Sandeep Vanga and Hanu Raghavapudi’s film already in motion.
The Raja Saab is set to release worldwide on January 9, 2026, right in the middle of the Sankranti festival window.
