Anushka’s return to the big screen with Ghaati, produced by UV Creations and First Frame Entertainments, has made a quiet but steady entry at the box office. According to the latest numbers from Sacnilk, the film’s day 2 performance reflected a drop compared to its opening day.

On day 1, Ghaati managed to collect around Rs 1.30 crore worldwide, a figure that indicated cautious interest from audiences curious about Anushka’s intense turn in an action role. By day 2, the film added approximately Rs 1 crore more, bringing its cumulative tally to around Rs 2.30 crore.

While the drop from day 1 is noticeable, industry analysts point out that Ghaati’s subject matter and tone are more tailored for a slow-building audience, rather than a mass commercial rush. The supporting cast includes Jagapathi Babu, Chaitanya Rao, and Ravindra Vijay, delivering performances that contribute to the film’s intense atmosphere. Behind the scenes, the film boasts strong technical credentials, with Sai Madhav Burra penning the dialogues, National Award-winner Thota Tharani in charge of art direction, and Manojh Reddy Katasani handling cinematography.

Released on September 5 alongside Little Hearts, Ghaati marks a significant departure from Anushka’s lighter outing in Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty. The teaser and promotions had hinted at a darker, grittier tone, and the audience’s reaction appears measured.

The Cinema Express review of Ghaati observes, “Anushka Shetty shines in flashes, but Krish Jagarlamudi’s action-drama forgets to trust its own grit.”
