Rukmini Vasanth is in Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel’s film, confirms producer NV Prasad

The long speculated casting finally gets confirmation, as NTR and Neel’s big-budget actioner readies for release in 2026

The buzz around Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel’s upcoming action drama, NTRNeel which is reportedly titled Dragon just turned up a notch. At the Telugu promotional event of Madharaasi, the film’s producer NV Prasad confirmed that Rukmini Vasanth, the breakout star of Sapta Sagaralu Daati, is officially part of NTRNeel.

Though fans had long speculated her involvement, this is the first time someone associated with her projects has put it on record. The news was quickly picked up across social media, with fans celebrating the addition, even as they await an official announcement from Rukmini herself or the NTRNeel team.

NTRNeel has been a talking point ever since the film was launched, largely thanks to the star-power combination of Jr NTR and KGF director Prashanth Neel. With production already underway, the team recently wrapped a schedule in Kumta and is set to move to Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad, where large-scale sets have been erected for the next leg of shooting.

The action drama is being mounted on a massive canvas by Mythri Movie Makers in association with NTR Arts. The producer line-up includes Kalyan Ram Nandamuri, Naveen Yerneni, Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili, and Hari Krishna Kosaraju. The technical crew incliudes Ravi Basrur on music, Bhuvan Gowda handling cinematography, and Chalapathi in charge of production design.

The makers announced that NTRNeel will hit cinemas worldwide on June 25, 2026, releasing across multiple languages including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam. Trade circles are already keeping a close eye on the project, with expectations that it could become one of the biggest pan-Indian releases of the year.
