A few weeks ago, we had reported about the launch ceremony of Rashmika Mandanna’s next film, Mysaa. The film, billed as an emotional action thriller, will be directed by debutant Rawindra Pulle. On Wednesday, the team announced the onboarding of composer Jakes Bejoy for the project.
The team also shared a brief announcement video, which features Jakes interacting with director Rawindra, before he gears up to compose a music piece for the film that features a haunting chorus from a local village troupe and which is rooted in a certain cultural milieu. In Mysaa, Rashmika promisingly portrays a Gond tribal woman, a character for which she had to reportedly undergo extensive physical transformation and combat training.
Jakes had recently composed original score for the Malayalam blockbuster Lokah Chandra: Chapter 1, which earned a lot of praise for its world-building and technical prowess. He also gave music for Mohanlal-starrer blockbuster Thudarum. Among Telugu film-goers, Jakes Bejoy is known for his songs and background for the 2024 Nani starrer Saripodhaa Sanivaaram. This will be the first time Jakes is composing for a Rashmika starrer.
Mysaa promises to showcase Rashmika in a never-seen-before action-driven avatar. The poster tagline read, “She roars. Not to be heard, but to be feared.” Produced by Ajay and Anil Sayappureddy under Unformula Films, the film features Retro fame Shreyaas P Krishna as the cinematographer. A few days ago, the team had announced renowned action director Andy Long as part of the project. Andy Long is known for his work in Kalki 2898 AD and Liger.
Mysaa is being billed for a pan-India release in multiple languages. Meanwhile, Rashmika has another big pan-India release coming up with Thamma, which also stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
