Both the teaser and trailer of Kiran Abbavaram’s upcoming film K-Ramp received a lot of attention for its risque humour and use of double-entendre. Even though the makers have been constantly reiterating that theirs is a family film, K-Ramp has reportedly received an ‘A’ certificate from the censor board.

If the reports are true of an ‘A’ certificate, meaning audience members above age of 18 would be allowed, it could seriously hamper the film’s potential at the boxoffice. Given the film’s youthful vibe, telling the story of a ‘chill’ male protagonist, K-Ramp would have really benefitted from early teens’ audience too. However, with a possible ‘A’ rating, it remains to be seen how well K-Ramp penetrates into the ‘family audience’ demographic.

Meanwhile, Telusu Kada and Mithra Mandali, the two big competitors for K-Ramp at the box office this week, have both received U/A certificate from the censor board.

During a recent interaction with media, K-Ramp director Jains Nani had addressed the subject of concerns over film’s ‘family-friendly’ content, stating, “Don’t assume the movie is inappropriate just because a couple of lines in the trailer felt edgy. This is very much a family film. The story is something every audience can relate to. Parents must watch this film.”

Further talking about his film, the director said that while some films only have moments, K-Ramp has ‘a solid story,’ and that the team has designed engaging sequences around it, adding that the interval block will be a surprise for everyone.

Produced by Razesh Danda and Shiva Bommak under the banners of Hasya Movies and Ruudransh Celluloid, K-Ramp stars Yukti Thareja as the female lead and notable actors like Sai Kumar, Naresh VK, Muralidhar Goud and Vennela Kishore in the ensemble cast.
