The promotions for Chiranjeevi-Nayanthara starrer Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu have officially kicked off, with the makers releasing the first single, 'Meesala Pilla' promo on Thursday. While the team has kept a lid on the film’s supporting cast, and haven’t officially announced any other cast members, Shine Tom Chacko has been reportedly locked for a brief but impactful role.

According to some reports, Shine Tom Chacko will be seen in the role of main antagonist in the film. While Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu is fashioned as a quintessential Anil Ravipudi entertainer, with oodles of humour and light-hearted drama, the film also has place for a villain figure, and Shine Tom Chacko will be seen in that part.  Shine Tom Chacko, who primarily works in Malayalam cinema, branched out to other industries with the 2022 Tamil film Beast. In last 2 years, the actor has appeared in major Telugu films like Dasara, Devara: Part 1, Robinhood and Daaku Maharaaj.

Among others, only VTV Ganesh has been confirmed to be a part of ensemble cast. Meanwhile, Catherine Tresa is said to be playing a major role in the film too.

Anil Ravipudi’s previous film Sankranthiki Vasthunam, which released in January this year, remains the biggest hit of 2025 so far. For MSG, Anil Ravipudi is collaborating with production banners Shine Screens and Gold Box Entertainment. Bheems Ceciroleo is composing music for the film. Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu also reunited Chiranjeevi and Nayanthara after Godfather and Syeraa Narsimha Reddy

The shoot for Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu commenced in May, and the team continued with consecutive shoot schedules in Musoorie and Kerala in June and July, respectively. During the Kerala shoot, a few pictures of Nayanthara from sets were leaked, which compelled the team to issue an official statement, warning those found involved in footage leaks of ‘strict legal action.’
