On Tuesday, Netflix announced that the Jr NTR-starrer Devara: part 1 is coming to the platform on November 8. The platform further mentioned that the film will be available in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and malayalam barring the Hindi version which is set to arrive a while later.
Devara is Jr NTR’s second collaboration with writer-director Koratala Siva, following the 2016 film Janatha Garage. Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor also starred in prominent roles. The film also stars Shine Tom Chacko and Prakash Raj, among others.
Acclaimed cinematographer Rathnavelu cranked the camera for the film while Sabu Cyril of Baahubali-fame took over the production design. The film’s music by Anirudh Ravichander received immense appreciation from audiences. Nandamuri Kalyan Ram and Sudhakar Mikkilineni-Kosaraju Harikrishna bankrolled Devara under the labels of NTR Arts and Yuvasudha Arts, respectively.
Devara revolves around a saviour-like figure in a tribal village who aims to progress his community and put their criminal habits behind him. However, his enemies have ulterior plans. The makers announced the arrival of a part 2 for the film which is set to go on floors in 2026.
