It has been 36 years since the release of Shiva, directed by Ram Gopal Varma and starring Nagarjuna in his career-defining role. Considering the special occasion, the film's makers are releasing it again in theatres in 4K format and with AI-based sound enhancements next Friday. Meanwhile, they also released a documentary exploring the film's lasting legacy and featuring comments from the likes of SS Rajamouli, Prabhas, Nag Ashwin, Allu Arjun, and Sandeep Reddy Vanga, among others. The other day, Amitabh Bachchan shared a link to the documentary, titled The Punch of Shiva, on X. In his post, Amitabh referred to the fact that the film is coming back into theatres again. "To all a happy comeback!" wrote the legendary Hindi actor.

Nagarjuna reposted the tweet, expressed his gratitude to Amitabh, and shared an interesting anecdote dating back to the film's original release. "I remember watching Shiva in a theatre with you in Mumbai 36 years ago and your inspiring words!!" wrote the actor. "Yes sir a happy comeback!!" he reiterated.

Director Ram Gopal Varma also joined the conversation, sharing Nagarjuna's post and writing, "Thank you Sarkar!" The director made his debut with the now-iconic film, also starring Raghuvaran and Amala in key roles.

Meanwhile, The Punch of Shiva is streaming on YouTube.
