Ram Gopal Varma’s Shiva, the 1989 film that catapulted Nagarjuna into big stardom, clocked 36 years of its release a few weeks ago. The makers of Shiva are also planning to have a grand re-release for their film on coming Friday, i.e. November 14. A few days before the re-release, the Shiva team released a 45 minute documentary.
The documentary contains bytes from many eminent film personalities like Prabhas, Nag Ashwin, SS Rajamouli, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Allu Arjun and many more, who talk about the impact of Shiva on Telugu film industry, while also recounting their earliest memories associated with the film. Since the past few days, the Shiva team had been releasing small snippets of these video bytes, which are part of this 45-minute documentary in longer form.
Other film artists who will be seen in this documentary are Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, NTR Jr, Mani Ratnam, Sudeep, and Ashutosh Gowariker.
Shiva, which also marked the directorial debut for Ram Gopal Varma, featured Raghuvaran and Amala in prominent roles, among others. The film earned the status of an instant classic, with its pathbreaking visual styling and action sequences. The music by Ilaiyaraaja too attained popularity. Shiva will re-release in theatres with AI-enhanced sound design and 4K remastered visuals.
