

The makers of Shiva, the landmark Nagarjuna starrer that marked the debut for Ram Gopal Varma, are planning a grand re-release for their film on November 14. Ahead of the release, Sandeep Reddy Vanga expressed his joy about the film’s re-release, talking about the film’s impact.
In a video statement released by the film’s production house Annapurna Studios, Sandeep Reddy Vanga said, “Shiva had a big impact on me, like millions of people. There are many scenes in the film that have stayed with me till now. The newness impact that Shiva gave, I dont think any other film can give now.”
Talking about how the aptness of a film like Shiva getting a re-release, Sandeep noted, “Shiva is one film that has everything to rethink and revisit and talk about. It is getting re-released with a mastered version. So we are waiting to watch it, first day first show.” Meanwhile, the makers of Shiva have made special technological upgrades for the re-release print, with 4k visuals, a Dolby Atmos experience, and a completely recreated sound using AI engineering.
Shiva, which also starred Raghuvaran and Amala in prominent roles, was a massive box office succes and also the recipient of 3 Nandi Awards that year.
The film was later remade in Hindi, and achieved a similar commercial success. Incidentally, much like Ram Gopal Varma, Sandeep Reddy Vanga too made an indelible impact 28 years later with his directorial debut Arjun Reddy (2017), and went on to remake it in Hindi as Kabir Singh (2019), attaining for himself a pan-India level recognition.
