In April, we had reported about Allu Arjun collaborating with Atlee for his next project. The film, tentatively titled AA22xA6, is billed as a sci-fi entertainer. While the makers are yet to officially announce details of other primary cast members, it is now being reported that the makers have roped in Deepika Padukone for a major role.

According to many reports, Deepika is the third female actor to be finalised for the film, alongwith Janhvi Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur. The other actors in consideration for primary cast include Bhagyashri Borse. Deepika and Atlee previously worked together in Jawan.

It is to be noted that Deepika is also rumoured to have exited Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit, the Prabhas starrer actioner, over disagreement on certain demands related to remuneration and working stipulations.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, Atlee flew down to Hyderabad to resume pre-production work on the film. Reportedly, the team is planning to commence shoot in June.

AA22xA6 is being produced under the banner of Sun Pictures, with presentation by Kalanithi Maran. The announcement video, released in April, was filmed at a studio in Los Angeles, featuring Allu Arjun alongside Atlee and Hollywood technicians, giving a glimpse into the sci-fi elements of the film. This will be director Atlee’s first pan-India film in Telugu.
