Vijay Kanakamedala, who has made films like Ugram and Naandhi, is returning with his third film Bhairavam, which stars Manchu Manoj, Bellamkonda Srinivas and Nara Rohith in lead roles. The film, mounted as a big-budgeted action thriller, is the official remake of the Tamil film Garudan. The film, slated for a theatrical release on May 30, also marks Telugu debut for Aditi Shankar. Ahead of the film’s release, Vijay Kanakamedala interacted with media, speaking about how Bhairavam is perfectly catered to Telugu audience, and more.

Vijay stated, “Compared to my previous films, this film will be a little more joyful. It is a drama about friends and family. We have put as much entertainment as needed in it. The three lead characters are great.” The filmmaker also mentioned that Bhairavam has all the commercial elements required for its box office success. He added, “It has the organic conflicts that were present in the original, and all the the emotions that the Telugu audience needs. Even after watching the original, you will definitely feel that it is something new. It gives the feeling that it is better than the original.”

Praising his film’s male leads, Vijay said, “Initially, I thought it would be difficult to handle three heroes. But Rohith, Srinivas, and Manoj are also very good friends off-screen. We worked full nights for 14 days, and they were very supportive.”

Talking about his future projects, Vijay Kanakamedala shared that he has prepared scripts for several big stars like Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna and Venkatesh, adding, “We met Chiranjeevi garu once during the gap of this film. He said that he would give us time.” He also mentioned that he hasn’t locked anything yet. “My next project will depended on Bhairavam’s success,” he noted.

Bhairavam is being produced by K.K. Radhamohan under the Sri Sathya Sai Arts banner. Aditi Shankar, Anandhi, and Divya Pillai are playing the female leads in the film. The film's trailer was officially released on Sunday at a grand ceremony.
