Venkatesh starrer Sankranthiki Vasthunam, which was released on the occasion of Sankranti, became a massive blockbuster, grossing 186 crores worldwide as of Thursday, according to Sacnilk. The film’s success came unexpectedly for the makers, who only thought they made a fun family entertainer. During the film’s success meeting, the star of the film, Venkatesh Daggubati, experiencing his career’s highest, interacted with the media.
When asked about the recent IT raids conducted on noted producers Dil Raju and Mythri Movie Makers, Venkatesh humorously remarked, “I don’t know about other heroes. I only take remuneration in white. That too, only a little. I take remuneration at the office, and I have always been like that. Everything is white here. ”
Further talking about the film’s numbers and fans’ reactions, he said, “I am very happy that my fans after so long got a reason to celebrate. I always advise my fans, to be happy with what you got. Because I don't encourage these records and numbers.”
Sankranthiki Vasthunam, directed by Anil Ravipudi, follows Venkatesh as an ex-cop caught on a comical mission to save an important person, but the catch is the mission entails juggling between his wife, played by Aishwarya Rajesh, and his ex-girlfriend, portrayed by Meenaakshi Chaudhary. The film’s music is composed by Bheems Ceciroleo.
Produced by Dil Raju and Shirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations, Sankranthiki Vasthunam features an ensemble cast including Avasarala Srinivas, Sai Kumar, Naresh, and Rajendra Prasad. Sameer Reddy cranked the camera, and AS Prakash took care of production design, while S Krishna and G Adhinarayana acted as co-writers.
