Sandeep Raj, after establishing his credentials as a writer-director, is also gradually venturing into acting. The Colour Photo director, who was recently seen in a negative role in the Balakrishna starrer Daaku Maharaaj, will soon be playing a prominent role in the upcoming action drama Bhairavam. The film stars Nara Rohith, Bellamkonda Sreenivas, and Manchu Manoj in the lead roles. At the teaser launch event for the film, Sandeep Raaj praised the makers for their scale and extension.

Addressing the media, Sandeep Raj stated, “I don’t know how much I can reveal right now about when the shooting commenced and ended, but it should be a case study how they pulled off a film with such a scale and casting within a certain number of days. As a close observer, I say this very confidently: Bhairavam will be an amazing theatrical experience."

Talking about his own role in the film and his acting career at large, Sandeep said, “It’s a new feeling to talk at the event as an actor. I might have only a single shot in the teaser, but I actually have a big role in the film.” Sandeep thanked his director, Vijay Kanakamedala, for casting him. “It’s not easy to find such important roles so early in one’s acting career. I am realising how enjoyable it is to be on the other side of the camera. I hope more directors cast me in their films,” he added with a chuckle.

Bhairavam is the official Telugu remake of the 2024 Soori starrer Garudan, which was directed by R S Durai Senthilkumar. The film, billed as a neo-noir action drama, is produced by KK Radhamohan under the Sri Sathya Sai Arts banner and presented by Jayantilal Gada through Pen Studios.
