The success meet for latest Sree Vishnu starrer #Single was held at Hyderabad on Friday. Besides the film’s cast and crew, Sree Vishnu also invited several of his previous filmmaker collaborators like Ram Abbaraju, Vivek Athreya, Hasith Goli, and Kishore Thirumala. On the occasion, Vivek Athreya spoke about Sree Vishnu’s contribution to his career.

Addressing the attendees at the event, Vivek Athreya stated, “Vishnu’s success means the success of every director sitting here. If I praise him, it will be like praising myself.” Recalling his working association with Sree Vishnu and the support the #Single actor lent him, Vivek recalled, “When I narrated the Brochevarevarura script to producers, 4-5 of them didn’t like it; some others didn’t understand it and advised me to work on rom-com scripts instead. However, Sree Vishnu told me ‘You want to do this film, right? I will get you a producer.”

Further recalling how Sree Vishnu prioritised Vivek’s creative independence when Brochevarevarura was finally greenlit, Vivek added, “Today, Brochevarevarura receives a lot of appreciation; it also brought me close to audience. But on paper, he was the first one to trust Brochevarevarura script. It’s because of Brochevarevarura that films like Ante Sundaraniki and Saripodhaa Sanivaaram happened in my career later.”

Vivek Athreya further acknowledged Sree Vishnu’s moral support throughout his career, adding, “While I would keep fearing about my career, wondering what would happen if my films flopped, Sree Vishnu would reassure me saying, “You make the films you want to. If any film flops, I am here. I will produce your films, and work in them.”

Sree Vishnu and Vivek Athreya collaborated on Mental Madhilo and Brochevarevarura. Later, Sree Vishnu also worked with Vivek’s assistant-turned-filmmaker Hasith Goli in two films - Raja Raja Chora and Swag.
