Sree Vishnu, who has delivered some successful comic films like Om Bheem Bush, Samajavargamana and Brochevarevarura, returns to the genre with #Single, which releases on May 9. During a recent media interaction, the actor spoke about what to expect from his latest and why he doesn’t see his previous film Swag as a failure.
Talking about the humour quotient in #Single, Sree Vishnu stated, “This movie is made with the intention of making the audience laugh from the beginning to the end.” Adding that #Single is largely aimed at younger audience members, the actor noted, “ I know youngsters enjoy my diaologue diction a lot, and I am taking special care of them. I have been in the industry for sixteen years. A lot of changes are going to happen in the coming days. The next generation kids are going to come. I am ready for that change.”
Talking about the mixed response to Swag, which released in October last year, Sree Vishnu reflected, “Since it came after Samajavaragamana and Om Bheem Bush, audience thought that Swag would be a full comedy film. We could not prepare them for the actual content. That is why I think there was a little confusion; those who came expecting full fun were somewhat disappointed.” At the same time, Sree Vishnu took note of the positive side as well. “The audience who wanted to watch different content liked Swag very much. It even received a good applause on television. If an experiment does not work, it should be considered an experience. Whether it works or not, I believe that new attempts should not be abandoned,” he added.
Directed by Caarthick Raju, #Single also stars Ketika Sharma and Ivana in lead cast. Sree Vishnu’s upcoming projects include a thriller called Mrityunjaya, and an untitled family entertainer.
