Nag Ashwin praises Sekhar Kammula’s Kuberaa

The social thriller starring Dhanush, Nagarjuna and Rashmika Mandanna stormed theatres on June 20

Director Nag Ashwin took to social media on Friday to praise Sekhar Kammula’s Kuberaa. “Masterf****piece. Don’t think. Just go,” he wrote on his instagram story. The social thriller which released on Friday received immense praise from all corners. Nag Ashwin worked as an assistant director to Sekhar Kammula for Leader (2010) and Life Is Beautiful (2012). 

Directed by Sekhar Kammula, Kuberaa stars Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna. The film marks a genre shift for Kammula, who is known for classic romantic dramas. Kuberaa’s plot follows Dhanush’s character, a homeless man, drawn into a wider scheme by a CBI officer played by Nagarjuna. Jim Sarbh appears as an influential industrialist. 

Produced by Sri Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations, Kuberaa, was shot as a bilingual, released in Telugu and Tamil, with dubbed versions in Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. The film has cinematography done by Niketh Bommi, editing done by Karthika Srinivas, and production design done by Thota Tharani. Devi Sri Prasad composed music for the thriller.
