Mahavatar Narasimha, the first instalment of a massive animation film project from Hombale Films, has emerged as a box office success. Directed by Ashwin Kumar, the film has earned Rs 21.8 crore (nett) in the first four day of its release. On Monday, Prabhas took to his social media page to congratulate the makers for their accomplishment.
The Baahubali actor posted in one of his Instagram stories about the film, and wrote, “Had the chance to watch the film and absolutely loved the action block animation and storytelling.” Prabhas, who has earlier worked with Hombale Films on Salaar: Part 1, also lauded the production banner and director Ashwin Kumar. "Huge congratulations to Hombale Films for bringing the powerful vision of Mahavatar Narsimha to life. My best wishes to Director Ashwin Kumar and the entire team for this incredible achievement,” he added.
Mahavatar Narasimha has performed the best in Hindi belt, earning Rs 15.4 crore nett, followed by Telugu territories where its nett collections stand at 5.57. The film is backed by Kleem Productions, and produced by Shilpa Dhawan, Kushal Desai, and Chaitanya Desai. It features an original score by composer Sam CS. The screenplay is penned by Jayapurna Das and Rudra Pratap Ghosh.
The film revolves around the popular mythical story of Prahlada, a staunch devotee of Lord Vishnu whose faith saves him from the tyranny of his father, Hiranyakashipu. Hombale Films and Kleem Productions have also unveiled the complete lineup for their ambitious franchise, which is planned to span over a decade and chronicle the many divine avatars of Lord Vishnu. These films are planned to be released between 2025 and 2037.
Meanwhile, Mahavatar Narasimha is also set for release in several countries across the world including Sri Lanka, Australia, Malaysia and across Europe from July 31.
