We had reported on Monday about the first single update of upcoming Ram Pothineni starrer Andhra King Taluka. While the song will arrive on Friday, July 18, the makers surprised film-goers with two exciting updates about the song on Tuesday.

The new single, untitled as yet, will have composer Anirudh as the playback singer. Additionally, Ram Pothineni himself has penned the lyrics for the single, making his debut as a lyricist. This is the first time Ram and Anirudh are collaborating on any project. 

The film’s production banner Mythri Movie Makers shared the update on their X page, posting, “When a star not only lives the emotion on screen but writes it too, you know something truly special is on the way.” Composer duo Vivek-Mervin, who primarily work in Tamil cinema, are the music directors for Andhra King Taluka. 

Meanwhile, Anirudh’s next single as a composer, ‘Anna Antene’ for the Vijay Deverakonda starrer Kingdom, will have its promo release later today. 

Andhra King Taluka is being directed by Mahesh Babu P, marking his sophomore directorial after Mrs Shetty Mr Polishetty. Earlier this month, the makers entered the last leg of their shooting stage, which is being carried out on a specially erected set in Hyderabad.

Kannada superstar Upendra plays the titular ‘Andhra King,’ and Bhagyashri Borse plays the female lead. The ensemble cast includes Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Satya, Rahul Ramakrishna, and VTV Ganesh. Siddhartha Nuni helms cinematography, and Sreekar Prasad is in charge of editing. Production design is by Avinash Kolla.

The film was officially launched in November 2024.  The title glimpse of the film, unveiled two months ago, established its protagonist (Ram Pothineni) as a big-time movie buff who adores his favourite star, and can go to any lengths to watch his film first day first show.
