Adivi Sesh, known for his content-driven script choices, has billed his upcoming film Dacoit: A Love Story as a "two-hero film,” underscoring that co-star Mrunal Thakur plays as vital a role as he does. Speaking about the film’s thematic core, Sesh said the story demanded balance and emotional parity between its leads.

“From the beginning, Dacoit never felt like a film with one protagonist,” said Sesh and added, “It’s a story of two layered characters, both fighting their own battles, both central to the world we’re building. I’ve always believed that stories thrive when ego takes a backseat and in Mrunal, I’ve found a co-actor who shares that belief.”

He also spoke about their working relationship on set, noting, “There’s an honesty in the way she works, a rawness and truth that mirrors how I approach my own performances. We’re both outsiders in this industry, and that shared sense of having earned our place brings a kind of unspoken understanding between us.”

Co-written by Sesh himself, Dacoit is a pan-Indian romantic thriller drama. Set against a rugged backdrop, the film’s teaser shows a blend of intense emotions with stylised action, and places love at the centre of a larger conflict. The film, produced by Supriya Yarlagadda under Annapurna Studios, hitting screens on December 25.
