Psych Siddhartha, the upcoming dark comedy starring Shree Nandu in the lead, has now officially postponed its release plans, in light of the Akhanda 2 team deciding to arrive on December 12. Psych Siddhartha will now instead release on January 1.

The team shared the said update in an unexpected cheeky manner, with an irreverent video featuring Nandu and Rana Daggubati whose Spirit Media banner is onboard as a presenter. As Nandu excitedly exclaims the countdown, Rana reminds the actor that Akhanda 2 is coming on December 12, and hence they must delay their release. The video ends with both of them chanting ‘Jai Balayya,’ a humorous yet affectionate acknowledgement of their respect to the Akhanda 2 actor.

As of now, Psych Siddhartha remains the only Telugu release slated for January 1 release.  Varun Reddy makes his directorial debut with the film.  The ensemble cast includes Yamini Bhaskar, Priyanka Rebekah Srinivas, Sakshi Atree, Mounika, Narasimha S, Sukesh, Wadekar Narsing, Pradyumna Billuri. Shyam Sunder Reddy Thudi has produced Psych Siddhartha under the banner of Nanduness Keep Rolling Pictures. Besides playing the titular role and serving as a co-producer, Shree Nandu has also been credited with additional screenplay for the film. Smaran Sai is the music director for the film. Other key technicians include K Prakash Reddy as the cinematographer and Prateek Nuti as the editor.

Meanwhile, the makers of Hebah Patel starrer horror thriller Eesha have planned a press conference later today, where they are expected to announce a new release for their film. Besides Akhanda 2, the other Telugu releases this week are Mowgli and Drive
