The shoot for Akhil Akkineni starrer Lenin was reportedly put on hold after Sreeleela opted out of the project. However, now the makers are trying to wrap up the shoot soon with their new female lead Bhagyashri Borse, and aiming for a release very soon.

The pending reshoots with Bhagyashri’s portions, which were earlier shot with Sreeleela will commence on December 7, according to a source. Soon after wrapping up these portions, the makers are reportedly planning to release their film on February 14.

The first glimpse of the film was released in April, with Akhil Akkineni and Sreeleela featuring in the video. However, later in June, it was reported that Sreeleela had backed out of the project.  Besides Akhil and Bhagyashri, the film also stars Kannada actor Pramod who is known among Telugu film goers for his appearance in Salaar.

Lenin is written and directed by Murali Kishor. Set against the backdrop of 1980s cinema, the film is billed as a period drama.

Nagarjuna and S Naga Vamsi are co-producing the film, marking their first collaboration of this kind. The film features music by S Thaman, editing by Navin Nooli, cinematography by Naveen Kumar, and production design by Avinash Kolla.
