The wait just got longer for Prabhas fans, and it's now official. At Teja Sajja’s Mirai trailer launch event, Producer TG Vishwa Prasad confirmed that Prabhas starrer The Raja Saab will release on January 9, 2026, making the delay official. The film will now clash with Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu and Naveen Polishetty’s Anaganaga Oka Raju, both being out and out family entertainers, The Raja Saab has the task of pulling crowds with solid promotions.

Directed by Maruthi, The Raja Saab is a horror comedy featuring Prabhas in a dual role, alongside Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar.

This confirmation comes after the producer had earlier hinted at the dilemma, saying, "Hindi buyers are asking for a 5 December release, while Telugu buyers want it for 9 January to coincide with Sankranthi. We will take a call that suits us best." Well, the call's been made, and it's Sankranthi 2026.

Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under People Media Factory, The Raja Saab stars Prabhas in a dual role alongside Malavika Mohanan in her Telugu debut, with Nidhhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar as co-leads. Sanjay Dutt, who reportedly plays Prabhas’s grandfather, will also feature in a prominent role. The music is composed by S Thaman.

The Raja Saab, produced under the People Media Factory banner, is one of Prabhas’ most anticipated projects following Kalki 2898 AD and comes alongside ongoing work on sequels Kalki 2 and Salaar 2. The film is currently embroiled in a legal controversy with co-producers, Ivy Entertainments at the Delhi High Court. Further details about the case are awaited.

Meanwhile, this delay leaves December 5 wide open for Telugu cinema, with reports suggesting Nandamuri Balakrishna's Akhanda 2 might slide into that slot.
