A few days ago, we had reported about the makers of Kishkindhapuri setting September 12 as the release date for the film. The official teaser of the film was unveiled on Friday evening.
Starring Anupama Parmeswaran and Bellamkonda Sreenivas in the lead roles, Kishkindhapuri promises to be a high-concept thriller which also blends elements of sci-fi. The snappily edited teaser establishes an eerie, antique radio transistor as the main supernatural force in the narrative, calling the shots and deciding the fate of everyone who visits the haunted radio station where it’s been lying at for decades. With its additional element of period setup — a specific period in the early 20th century is mentioned in a radio announcement — the teaser does a fine job of creating intrigue about its storyline without giving the story away.
Kishkindhapuri is written and directed by Koushik Pegallapati, and produced by Sahu Garapati who is also producing the upcoming Chiranjeevi entertainer by director Anil Ravipudi. Chaitan Bharadwaj is composing music for the film. The makers had released the first single of their film a few days ago, featuring Sreenivas and Anupama in the video.
Darahas Palakollu and K Bala Ganesh are credited as co-writer and additional screenplay writer, respectively. In the technical team, Chinmay Salaskar is the cinematographer and Niranjan Devaramane is the editor. Manisha A Dutt is the production designer for the atmospheric thriller, while art direction is by A Siva Kamesh.
The mystery thriller also marks second collaboration between Sreenivas and Anupama after their 2019 hit Rakshasudu. Upon it’s release, Kishkindhapuri will clash at the boxoffice against Little Hearts, a film of completely different genre starring Mouli and Shivani Nagaram.
