The official teaser of the upcoming film Couple Friendly was unveiled on Friday. Santosh Sobhan and Mansa Varanasi play the lead roles in the film.

The teaser, while establishing the film’s protagonists, maintains an air of intrigue around their relationship and how it evolves. All it plays upon is a few glimpses of their first meeting, interspersed with moments of their amourous relationship later on. The urban vibe of the film is further underlined with its choice of music — which is heavily western — and visuals of the metropolitan hustle bustle, where the two leads have a chance encounter. Aditya Ravindran, who is the music director, has also provided the vocals for the teaser alongwith Pratika Gopinath.

The teaser also stands out for its visual depiction of intimate moments between the two lovers, which is rather unconventional by Telugu film standards.

Manasa Varanasi, who has been a beauty pageant winner, made her film debut last year with the Ashok Galla starrer Devaki Nandana Vasudeva. Santosh Sobhan is known for his appearance in Ek Mini Katha and Manchi Rojulochaie. More details about the film’s primary cast are yet to be revealed.

Couple Friendly is written and directed by Ashwin Chandrasekar, and produced by UV Concepts and Ajay Kumar Raju P. Ashwin Chandrasekar has previously worked as a cinematographer on the mini-series Kadhaipoma

Dinesh Purushothaman is the cinematographer, and Ganesh Siva is the editor. The art direction and costume design are by Michael BFA and Dinesh Manoharan, respectively.

Set in Chennai, Couple Friendly is slated for a bilingual release in Telugu and Tamil. The makers are yet to announce a release date.
