The first single from Kuberaa, the upcoming thriller starring Dhanush, was unveiled on Sunday. Titled ‘Poyiraa Mama’, the track presents an unconventional and lively take on death, framed as a celebration rather than a moment of mourning. Composed by Devi Sri Prasad and sung by Dhanush himself, the song blends high-energy beats with lyrical depth by Bhaskarabhatla, exploring the notion of liberation through death and the idea of becoming immortal in memory.

The track has drawn attention for its contrasting tone and distinct approach. With this release, expectations around Kuberaa have intensified ahead of its theatrical release on June 20 in major pan-Indian languages of Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada.

Directed by Sekhar Kammula, Kuberaa marks the director’s first foray into the thriller genre. Known for his emotionally grounded dramas and romantic comedies, Kammula takes a stylistic departure with this narrative, which reportedly interweaves three distinct storylines featuring Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna. Dhanush is set to portray a character rising from poverty, suggesting a layered and intense performance.

Kuberaa’s technical crew includes cinematographer Niketh Bommi, editor Karthika Srinivas, and production designer Thota Tharani. Kuberaa is jointly produced by Sree Venkateswara Cinemas and Amigo Creations, under the banners of Suneil Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao.
