The makers of Varun Tej’s upcoming film Matka have set a release date for it. Matka will release theatrically on November 14.

The Matka makers also released a new character poster, featuring Varun Tej looking dapper in a suit. A lavish period action-drama being produced by Dr Vijender Reddy Teegala and Rajani Thalluri under the banner of Vyra Entertainments and SRT Entertainment, the film reportedly spans over 24 years, from 1958 to 1982, telling the story of a Matka overlord. The film will also feature Varun Tej in four different looks, capturing the protagonist’s journey as he evolves from being a common man to a powerful figure in the world of crime. Karuna Kumar, who has previously directed Palasa 1978, among other films, is the writer and director for Matka. 

Besides Varun Tej, the film stars Nora Fatehi and Meenakshi Chaudhary in prominent roles. Actors like Naveen Chandra, Ajay Ghosh, Ravindra Vijay and Kannada Kishore, among others, are part of the ensemble cast. GV Prakash Kumar is the music director for the film. Karthika Srinivas is the editor, and Kishor Kumar is the cinematographer. 

Varun Tej was last seen in the aerial action-drama Operation Valentine, which also marked the Telugu debut for Manushi Chhillar.

Currently, the Matka team is busy wrapping up the final shoot schedule of their film.
