Sai Dharam Tej officially announced his decision to change his name to Sai Durga Tej on Friday evening at a public event. The actor was attending a Women’s Day special show for his short film Satya. 

Addressing the media, Sai Durga Tej said, “I have also made a small addition to my name, adding my mother’s name to it. There is a small reason for it – I need my mother with me. My father’s name will anyway be part of me as the surname. But since I wanted my mother’s name as well, I have now decided to keep my name as Sai Durga Tej.” The actor also announced that he is starting a new production house in the name of his mother, called Vijayadurga Productions. 

On the occasion, the actor also praised his director Naveen Vijay Krishna for bringing out a new side of him as an actor. Satya, produced by Hanshitha Reddy and Harshith Reddy under Dil Raju Productions, also stars actor Swathi Reddy. 

Sai Durga Tej was last seen in the 2023 film Bro, sharing the screen with Pawan Kalyan. The actor’s upcoming projects include Gaanja Shankar.
