Filmmaker Suku Poorvaj, who has earlier made films like Shukra and Mataraai Mounamidi, is returning with a superhero film titled A Masterpiece: Rise of a Superhero. The official teaser for the film was released at a grand launch ceremony on Friday.

By the looks of its teaser, A Masterpiece promises to be a superhero film with an element of mythology. The film features Arvind Krishna as the protagonist, while Manish Gilada plays the antagonist. The film’s ensemble cast includes Ashu Reddy, Sneha Gupta, Jyothi Poorvaj, Jaya Prakash and Archana Ananth.

On the occasion, director Suku Poorvaj stated, “We have tried to create our own native superhero film with A Masterpiece. We have designed the hero and villain characters with the background of Jaya and Vijaya from the Bhagavatam, and took the role of Shiva as a link to combine mythology and science fiction. It does not exist in the Puranas, although written as a fictional character. That's why we wrote 'Myths Reimagined' on our poster.”

The director also announced that they have finished most of the shooting, and would soon commence filming the climax sequence over a 10-day schedule. Sivaram Charan is the cinematographer for A Masterpiece, with stunts by Raj Kumar Gangaputra, as well as the editing by Suku Purvaj, Manoj Kumar B and Shiva Sharwani. Aashirvad is the music director.

Produced by Srikanth Kandragula, Manish Gilada and Prajay Kamat under the banners Cinema Bandi Productions and Merge XR, A Masterpiece is yet to have a release date.
