Allu Sirish’s upcoming action thriller Buddy now has a new release date. Earlier slated for a theatrical release on July 26, the film will now hit theatres exactly a week later, on August 2.

Buddy is produced by KE Gnanavelraja and Aadhana Gnanavelraja under the Studio Green Films banner. The makers shared the release date update on their official X page with the caption, “Get ready for the action-packed rom-com entertainer Buddy hitting theatres near you on August 2nd.”

The official trailer of the film was released on June 26. By the looks of it, Buddy revolves around a commercial pilot, Aditya Ram (Allu Sirish), who lands in trouble with a dangerous mafia honcho (Ajmal Amir), with the highlight of the film being Aditya’s Teddy Bear friend, who helps him out in his mission against eliminating his enemies and facing evil upfront. Gayatri Bharadwaj stars as the female lead, opposite Sirish.

Buddy is directed by Sam Anton. The film’s ensemble cast includes actors like Prisha Rajesh Singh, Ali, and Mukesh Kumar, among others. Buddy is written by Sai Hemanth. Hiphop Tamizha is the music director for the film. Ruben is the editor, and Krishnan Vasant is the cinematographer. The action sequences have been choreographed by Sakthi Saravanan.

Upon its release, Buddy will clash at the box office against films like Operation Raavan and Roti Kapda Romance.
