Rao Ramesh plays the protagonist in Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam, which is set to release on August 23. The makers released the theatrical trailer for the film two weeks ago, and it generated ample buzz for the film. The film’s trailer shows the hilarious Subramanyam (Rao Ramesh) and his son’s adventure when they mysteriously get credited a lot of money in their bank account.

Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam is produced by Bujji Rayudu Pentyala and Mohan Karya under the PBR Cinemas and Lokamaatre Cinematics banners. Thabitha Sukumar, wife of Pushpa-famed director Sukumar, is presenting the comedy, while the noted production house, Mythri Movie Makers, is releasing the film in the Telugu states.

The film's director, Lakshman Karya, interacted with the media as part of the promotions. Talking about the real-life inspiration for the film, he said "My account was credited with Rs 80,000 once. I asked my buddies about this since I was unsure of who had placed the money. I had to deal with a lot of funny situations at that time.”

Talking about the Allu Arjun-Allu Aravind connection depicted in the trailer, where the son character played by Ankit Koyya dreams that he is Allu Aravind’s son, he says, “Rao Ramesh gaaru and Ankit Koyya play a father-son duo in the film. Ankit imagines himself as a wealthy kid who got misplaced at birth, like Allu Arjun gaaru’s character in Ala Vaikunthapurramulo. This similarity brings his character close to the Allu family, as he also imagines himself as Allu Aravind’s son.”

Thabitha Sukumar got to know about Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam, and she decided to take the film to the audience. Adding about Sukumar’s reception, he mentions, “My wife and Thabitha Sukumar gaaru connected. She watched our film, and she instantly liked it. Director Sukumar gaaru loved our film, and his phone call complimenting gave us confidence. The father-son bonding between Rao Ramesh and Ankith Koyya in this film will be referred to as recent time's best.”
