Gopinath Rajendran

Looks like it's the season of re-releases. After 2002's Rajinikanth-starrer Baba re-releasing, Kadhal Desam's Telugu dubbed version Prema Desam is all set to grace theatre screens. According to sources, the film will release worldwide on 9th December.

The film, directed by Kathir, was originally released in 1996. The film starred Vineeth, Abbas and Tabu in lead roles. While the film marked Abbas' acting debut, it was also Tabu's first Tamil film.

Late cinematographer-turned-director KV Anand shot the film which had a chartbuster album by AR Rahman. Similar to the original Tamil version, Prema Desam also turned out to be a successful release.

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the film’s release, Sri Maatha Creations is in charge of re-releasing the film.
