Trailer of Aishwarya Rajesh's The Great Indian Kitchen out

CE Features

As reported earlier by us, the acclaimed Malayalam film The Great Indian Kitchen is being remade in Tamil under the same title. Starring Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead, the film is directed by R Kannan. On the occasion of Deepavali, the makers released its trailer.

From the trailer, it looks like a faithful adaptation with almost similar scenes and staging. The film portrays how a patriarchal society confines its women to the kitchen and restricts them to domestic chores. While Aishwarya Rajesh plays the lead role of a newly married woman, actor-filmmaker Rahul Ravindran essays the role of her husband. The two are reprising the roles played by Nimisha Sajayan and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the original. Poster Nandakumar (Madras) and Yogi Babu are also part of the cast.

The Great Indian Kitchen has music by Jerry Silvester Vincent and cinematography by Balasubramaniem. Leo John Paul is handling the edits. The film is produced by Durgaram Choudhary and Neel Choudhary.
